We review
We look at what you bring, such as returns, statements, your QuickBooks file or a notice.
You decide
We explain our recommendation and the fee. You decide whether to go ahead, with no pressure.
What should you bring to your first meeting?
Bring what applies to you. If something is missing, bring what you have and we will help fill the gaps.
Individuals and families
- Last year's federal and Illinois tax returns
- W-2s and any 1099 forms you received
- Mortgage interest and property tax statements
- Child care, education and charitable donation records
- Any letters from the IRS or the Illinois Department of Revenue
Business owners
- Last year's business and personal returns
- Bank and credit card statements for the business
- Your QuickBooks login or other bookkeeping files
- Payroll reports, if you have employees
- Your EIN letter and any K-1 forms
An EIN is the federal tax ID number for a business. A K-1 is the form that reports your share of income from a partnership or S corporation.
How long does the first consultation take?

That is fine and very common. Bring what you have, even if it is a box of receipts. Sorting records out is part of our work, and we will tell you exactly what else we need.

Yes. We explain what we would handle and what it costs before any work begins. Nothing starts until you agree.
Do I have to come to the office?
